Juan de Dios Nuñez Barojas disappeared in the state of Puebla at the age of 23. Alone, his mother María Luisa searched for him for years until she found clues as to who her son might be. However, the forensic crisis affecting Mexico – 52,000 unidentified human remains – prevented María Luisa from knowing for sure whether or not it was her son until a year and a half later. Germany is one of the countries that has provided technical support to Mexico to alleviate this painful crisis that affects hundreds of thousands of Mexicans.
